Gabr el Bint is situated south of Dahab and means in Arabic “the grave of the girl”. This area is one of the most unusual sites along the Sinai coast and features dramatic seascapes. There are at least two different dives by zodiac or boat here. The first dive is to the left to the north, it is a fantastic dive that starts on a wall featuring a virtual forest of gorgonians. You can always look out to the blue and sometimes you will find trevallies hunting on the shoals of fusiliers, turtles or dolphins. While ascending to 10 m you will be crossing over a saddle when returning to the boat. Dive into a big sandy lagoon which runs ...parallel to the shore. The overhang is perforated with beautiful coral heads that are charming numerous reef species like scorpionfish, parrotfish, triggerfish or stingrays. The second dive is done south to the right and it is also known as the dark side. You will find a characteristic wall that drops down to about 60 m slit by several canyon and overhangs. The drop off is decorated with table corals and beautiful gorgonians all lying between 12 and 30 m.
