Stingray Station is a small reef at the western end of the Alternatives, a sheltered site offering a safe dive. The site itself is a group of coral heads which form an arc and gives a sheltered overnight anchorage for liveaboards. Coral heads that are almost breaking the surface, with a number of smaller coral heads on a sandy ground. The site is known as a resting place for a variety of rays. Depths range from 9 to 10m on the sandy plateau while reaching 18 to 20 m on the seaward side. Each coral head is different, you can see large groupers, blue spotted stingrays, calamari, nudibranch and various kinds of corals, while the deeper wate...r is the home of leopard sharks. Special in spring - from March till April - many blue spotted stingrays gather here, giving the name to this site. Stingray station is an ideal third dive of the day and of course a superb night dive.
