King Snefro Fleet joined Green Fins (08.06.2022)
After full day inspections, crew and guide training done in the past weeks, we are very excited to become the first liveaboard operator in the Red Sea. The Chamber of Diving and Water Sports announced today, on World Ocean Day:
“A big congratulations to the King Snefro Fleet for becoming the first safari liveaboard fleet to join the Green Fins Egypt network. King Snefro Fleet is one of the few Green Fins liveaboard fleets to be certified in the entire world”
As in other fields we at King Snefro Fleet aim to be a role model in the much-needed environmental protection of the area, our underwater world is a treasure that we do care for.
Back in December 2015 Snefro Spirit has been the first liveaboard worldwide that had carried out a 3 day long "clean up safari" in co-operation with Sea Shepherd. Since that time, we offer regular clean up dives when possible, you can find more about this on @kingsnefrofleet.redsea. Over time we and our guest have collected more than 1.000 Kg of debris, many of our returning groups are already asking for clean up dives by themselves.
Plastic cups and straws are banned long time, packed Nescafe has been replaced long ago, these are small but needed steps towards a bigger goal. Before Corona hit, we worked without plastic water bottles and only used dispensers to reduce plastic waste. Things changed with Corona big times. We refused the single use cutlery and plates that where mandatory to restart operation under Corona Protocol back in 2020; same as we found a system to avoid covering regulator mouthpieces by plastic bags (in special when it comes to rental gear), we have plastic boxes.
We alone cannot solve the environmental challenges but will do all possible efforts to minimize these changes. Please support us moving forward to protect our reefs & corals, we will keep on educating divers and crew how to enjoy the underwater world without leaving footprints. We appreciate your support and ideas, please share with us.
Need to know more, get to know Green Fins , see what each one can do to protect the ocean or help us on our next clean up dives on board.
Good Bye 2020, Welcome 2021!
We here at King Snefro Fleet would like to wish all of you a healthy, prosperous and Happy New Year!
For us it will be a special year as we celebrate 35 years of King Snefro Fleet.
During these years we have been facing many crisis and went through lots of hardships together. There have been countless challenges that we thought were bigger than us, but we are still here. Many crisis, we thought would be the end, instead they opened the door to new opportunities and success.
Lets look forward to the new chapter to come. Our relationship with our guests and partners all over the world gives us strength. We have to keep our dreams and goals alive, live and enjoy life and we never will loose sight of the small things that makes a difference.
We are waiting you to be on board to enjoy with us our Red Sea!
One Team – One Mission – One Passion – The Red Sea
Use of full face mask for snorkeling
CDWS Announcement - 26.08.2020
Based on recent investigations of several incidents that indicated the recurrence of accidents and injuries resulting from the use of the full-face mask for snorkeling, the Chamber of Diving and Water Sports, in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities recommend not to use a full-face mask for snorkeling due to its risk on the safety of the snorkelers.
Various observations have been recorded on the lack of safety of using this mask and the risk of inhaling the accumulated carbon dioxide inside of the mask produced while breathing. Breathing CO2 can lead to headaches, dizziness, and in some cases unconsciousness, which could lead to drowning.
Kindly educate your visitors and raise their awareness of the risk factors of using the full-face mask.

We are ready to welcome you back, take you diving and enjoy the Red Sea after a long period of being all alone by itself. For our international guest, we are monitoring flight developments in the next weeks, for our local guest and residents we are soon announcing some trips, either join on a scheduled one or ask us for tailor made overnight trips starting with only 4 guests.
Let's get back to #diving!
Reschedule, not cancel and please stay safe !
Dear Divers, Dear Guest, Dear Partners,
since our last news 2 weeks have passed, it was called "The storm is approaching" referring to the hurricane that hit Egypt during 12 to 14 March 2020 badly. It was just the beginning, Covid 19 was still far away.
Rapidly, the spread of the Covid 19 virus is now affecting the lives of all people worldwide. All of us are confronted with tremendous challenges. The monumental impact it is having on people’s lives, livelihoods, and travel plans as international travel is suspended indefinitely by most of nations and there is no advice to give.
No airline, travel agency, hotel, resort, diving center or liveaboard operator will be able to bear this burden alone, even there are support programs in some countries made available. If we all want to continue diving the Red Sea in the future, we count on your understanding, solidarity and support. We cannot offer a general free cancellation for all trips. This current state of emergency was not foreseeable by anyone, yet no one would ever believe the impact of this pandemic to each one of us.
In these uncertain times, we offer to all our guests and trusted partners rebooking options and making them flexible if your departure in the next 4 weeks and will be effected. Share your desired new travel date ( within one year of your old travel date) with us and our partners, we place an option to ensure availability. There is no need to immediately decide on an alternative date for a new trip. The value of payments made is credited in full towards the rebooking. You may also rebook to a different liveaboard than you planed before.
Despite all the burden the virus causes, we at King Snefro Fleet want to say THANK YOU to our past and coming guest. The vast majority has rescheduled their bookings so we can look forward to the day when traveling will be possible again.
Till then we should all stand together, as divers the good old STOP - THINK - ACT is the choice, scaremongering and hysteria have never been good advisers.
Stay safe!

An environment friendly, clean & durable solution!
Published on: 30.05.2012
Some in the Red Sea still use plastic tape around the valves to indicate if the tanks are full or empty. A lot of times the tape ends up in the sea and pollutes the dive sites.
Now on all our liveaboards we have installed the valve cap system to all our tanks.
It is easy to use, lasts for many years and looks nice and clean.
The most important thing, it does not harm the environment…
A clean and professional solution!
Farewell To Rais Khodeer
I’m still here, though you don’t see.
I’m right by your side each night and day,
And within your heart I long to stay.
My body is gone but I’m always near.
I’m everything you feel, see or hear.
My spirit is free, but I’ll never depart.
It is with our deepest sorrow that we have the sad news to share, we have lost our dear friend and valued colleague Rais Khodeer. He passed away on Tuesday afternoon after a heart attack while being out in the sea. Khodeer has been with the King Snefro Fleet from the very beginning. For more than 30 years he was one of the most knowledgeable captains in the area. None could tell currents from the surface as he did, predict the weather and knew the storm will come even the sky is blue and the sea is calm. You could always feel safe with him in the sea, be inspired by his knowledge, feel welcomed by his smile and touched by his big heart. He have made thousands of divers friends of the Red Sea. Rest in peace dear friend, we all will miss you but won`t forget you! Our thoughts are with his wife and his children in this difficult time.
